India has officially advanced its Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) programme, marking a significant step toward developing its first fifth-generation stealth fighter jet. The ambitious project, approved by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, will bring together expertise from both private and public sector companies.
Designed for air superiority, ground strikes, electronic warfare, and more, the twin-engine stealth aircraft will be a game-changer for the Indian Air Force (IAF). The project is estimated to cost ₹15,000 crore, with mass production set for 2035.
This move strengthens India’s defense capabilities, keeping pace with global advancements, particularly in response to China’s expanding military aviation power.
