India faced Cyber attacks from an 18 year old Gujarat 12-th grade dropout attempting to bring down 20 Govt' Websites down during "Operation Sindoor"

An 18-year-old from Gujarat, identified as Jasim Shahnawaz Ansari, was arrested by the Gujarat Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) for orchestrating cyberattacks against multiple Indian government websites. Ansari, a 12th-grade dropout, allegedly attempted to bring down at least 20 government websites on May 7, 2025, coinciding with Operation Sindoor, India's military response to the Pahalgam terror attack.
Investigations revealed that Ansari and his juvenile accomplices used Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attacks to overwhelm servers, making them inaccessible. They reportedly targeted defense, finance, aviation, urban development institutions, and state government portals, sharing screenshots of their attacks on Telegram, along with anti-India messages. Authorities have charged Ansari under Sections 66(F) and 43 of the Information Technology Act, 2000, which deal with cyberterrorism and unauthorized access to computer systems.
This case highlights growing concerns about cybersecurity threats and the need for stronger digital defenses against such attacks.
